Woman Association of Cairo Gathering in Serbian Embassy

In the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia on 10th October, 2018 ambassador’s wife and ambassador hosted women who are members of the Woman Association of Cairo.WA is a community of women who speak English, all nationalities, ages, religions that participate in social and cultural activities. It provides information about the receiving country, Egypt, and countries of all women. WA provides its contribution to local charity organizations in order to assist those in need. With pleasant sounds of piano, Serbian and international specialties, guests were informed about Serbian-Egyptian relations for the past 110 years. WA members are also women of other ambassadors. During the day, warm words of gratitude came in regarding to well organized reception.


Two-day working visit of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs V. Odalović to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo

Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs V. Odalović, during the period from 5 to 8 October 2018, was in a working visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo. The visit was realized with the aim of reviewing activities related to the construction of the New Capital City near Cairo and the impending moving of the Embassy. The visit and tour to the Egyptian Government's mega-project - the construction of the "new administrative city" was carried out on October 7th, and it would have planned to displace about 5 million inhabitants, including the president and the presidency, the parliament and Government, all ministries and administrative apparatus of the Arab Republic of Egypt, including the planned resettlement of all diplomatic and consular missions. It is expected that the decision to move the diplomatic and consular missions be made as soon as possible.
During his two-day working visit to Egypt, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs V. Odalović was informed about the current status of the facility in which the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia is located in Cairo, which is owned by the Republic of Serbia, and represents an object of special historical and cultural significance for the Republic of Serbia. It was agreed that, with the consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs activities be carried out in the phases on the plan of restoration and reconstruction of  the facilities of the Embassy, with the support of the Serbian donors, who in the previous period participated in similar activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo.


The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb received on Wednesday Ambassador Yugoslav Vukadinovic, Ambassador of Serbia to Cairo

The Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar spares no effort to serve Muslims around the world, expressing Al-Azhar’s  readiness to support the Muslims of Serbia in all cultural, scientific and religious fields by increasing the number of scholarships offered to Serbian students to study in Al-Azhar and to send for imams to train them in a special training program specialized in dealing with temporary issues and problems.
For this part, the Ambassador of Serbia to Cairo, expressed his great happiness to meet the Grand Imam, as the largest religious symbol in the Islamic world, stressing his country’s keenness to benefit from Al-Azhar’s scientific and advocacy efforts in the service of Muslims of Serbia and spread the true Islam.
