The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Selaković, visited the new capital of Egypt near Cairo today, the construction of which was started by the President of that country, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, five years ago.

Selaković visited the built Coptic Orthodox Church, as well as the complex of buildings in which the ministries will be moved, but also the presidential building.

On his Instagram profile, the head of Serbian diplomacy wrote that over 70% of the work on the construction of the new capital has been completed so far.

He added that all ministries and the seat of the Government will be moved in soon, but also that churches and mosques were the first to be built.

"I congratulate our Egyptian friends on their historic success and thank them for their extraordinary hospitality. In addition to New Cairo, 13 more completely new cities are currently being built", Selaković wrote.

He adds that work is being done on realizing the visit of President El-Sisi to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, as soon as possible.

The head of Serbian diplomacy is convinced that the meeting of two serious statesmen will pave the way for a new era of cooperation between the two friendly countries of Serbia and Egypt.
