The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukri, on November 28th, discussing the ways of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, which are bound by long-standing friendly relations. During the talks, the two sides agreed that it is necessary to make efforts to improve and expand the various areas of cooperation such as economy, tourism, construction, agriculture and water management, as well as the area of military-technical cooperation. As agreed, in the first half of next year, the first meeting of the Joint Committee will be held with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation, bearing in mind that the level of trade exchange in the last year was only $ 70 million. The interlocutors expressed their desire to establish a direct flight between the capital cities -Cairo and Belgrade, which would contribute to strengthening the ties between the two countries. The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed that the Egyptian market offers great economic opportunities for Serbian companies, while President Vucic, on the other hand, invited the businessmen of Egypt to make the best use of their business conditions in Serbia. As both countries represent the pillar of stability in the region, President Vucic expressed hope that Egypt will continue to respect Serbia's interests in international organizations.
