Strong bonds between Arabs and Serbian people

Further strengthening relations: Ambasador Dragan Bisenic and HE Nabil El Arabi

H.E. Dragan Bisenic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo, visited the League of Arab States on February 6, 2012 and held talks with His Excellency Dr. Nabil Al Araby Secretary General.

They discussed bilateral relations and also exchanged views on important regional issues of mutual interest.

Serbian Ambassador delivered letter of Serbian FM Vuk Jeremic to HE Nabil El Arabi.
- Serbia continues to affirm that the role played by the Arab League is crucial to the promotion of regional peace and security, and in the maintenance of international legal order. Because of influence that the Arab League exercises on global stability and prosperity, Serbia has an abiding interest in further strengthening its relations with the Arab League in all areas of common interest, emphases FM Jeremic in his letter.

Ambassador Bisenic re-affirmed the political, economic and cultural bonds that exist between the Republic of Serbia and Arab states and their peoples. He reiterated commitment to steer bilateral relations with all Arab states in accordance with the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, mutual respect and the UN Charter.

According to both interlocutor the need of working together and engagement in diverse fields including security and development would greatly contribute to peace and stability in the ME as well as in the Balkan region.

Serbian Ambassador assured H.E. Dr. Nabil Al Arabi of his full support in further strengthening League of Arab States-Serbia relations in all areas to the mutual benefit.
