In anticipation of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) establishment in Serbian capital city of Belgrade in 1961, and bearing in mind the decades-old bilateral friendship the two countries have pledged to enhance in the years ahead, the Republic of Serbia invited the Arab Republic of Egypt to propose its outstanding young people to study in the Republic of Serbia, every academic year, starting in September 2010.

Upon the official proposal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia has decided to grant five scholarships to Egyptian students to pursue core studies, post graduate-master’s degree and doctoral studies within the frame of the project “The World in Serbia” in the academic years 2011/2012.

During their years in Belgrade, Egyptian scholarship holders will be offered opportunities for unparalleled networking with their student peers, as well as senior Serbian officials through high profile events.

Upon the completion of their studies in Belgrade, Egypt’s “World in Serbia Scholars” will return home with world-class skills, ready to accept responsibility of leadership in their chosen fields, and able to build the connections that will solidify our bilateral partnership in the decades to come.

Information on the conditions for granting scholarships, status, rights and responsibilities of the scholarship holders, application forms and a list of available faculties, can be obtained through the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia as well as from the competent Egyptian authorities.
